Russian stocks may fall as activity down ahead of Jackson Hole
MOSCOW, Aug 24 (PRIME) -- Russian stocks may decrease at the opening on Thursday amid negative dynamics on global floors and investor activity falling ahead of the Jackson Hole symposium, analysts said.
“Possible downward correction is possible today at the start of trading – investor activity is on the whole reducing ahead of a meeting of global central bank leaders in Jackson Hole, which will start today,” Olma senior analyst Anton Startsev said.
Oil prices, which grew on Wednesday after the Energy Information Agency (EIA) data pointed to a reduction of the U.S. oil reserves by 3.3 million barrels, switched to decline on Thursday.
The U.S. stock index futures are slightly decreasing, European indices closed on average in minus, and Asian indices are mostly falling.
